Arizona Mother Reflects on Family's Difficult Christmas Following Tragic Loss
An Arizona mother has opened up about her family's challenging holiday season following the tragic death of her three-year-old son earlier this year. Emilie Kiser, 26, shared her candid reflections about navigating Christmas without her child in a social media video posted on December 27.
"We just did not want to have a traditional Christmas without Trigg," Kiser explained in her video message. "My family made sure to just make us still feel so special, make it special for Teddy. We were able to just have very quality time together and that is really just all we wanted this year."
The Chandler, Arizona Police Department confirmed that young Trigg died in May after being found unconscious in the family's backyard pool. The incident occurred while the child's father, Brady Kiser, was home. Authorities later submitted criminal charge recommendations, though the Maricopa County Attorney's Office determined there was "no likelihood of conviction."
Family Unity During Difficult Times
Rather than attempting to maintain normal holiday traditions, the Kiser family chose to travel to California for Christmas, focusing on spending quality time together. Emilie praised her siblings for their support during this difficult period.
"I'm really just so grateful to my siblings, because they all just kind of picked up what they were gonna do this year," she said. "They were all just kinda like, 'We are all gonna do whatever you guys want to do and whatever makes you guys comfortable this year.'"
The family's approach emphasized flexibility and emotional support, with plans made day by day based on how everyone was feeling. This thoughtful approach demonstrates the importance of family solidarity during times of profound grief.
Moving Forward Together
Sources close to the family indicate that Emilie and Brady have been working together to rebuild their relationship and focus on caring for their nine-month-old son, Teddy. The couple has prioritized privacy while working to provide stability for their remaining child.
After taking a break from social media following the tragedy, Emilie returned in August to share her thoughts on the loss. "Loss of this magnitude feels impossible to put into words," she wrote at the time. "Trigg is our baby and our best friend. The light and spirit he brought into this world was bright, pure, joyful and undeniable."
The family's experience highlights the importance of strong family bonds and community support during life's most challenging moments. Their decision to prioritize family unity and emotional well-being over traditional celebrations reflects mature decision-making during an extraordinarily difficult time.
